CARNIVORE

0:43 - Look #1

We are introduced to Levi as he sits with his half-brother at a diner after just leaving jail. He's clearly not doing well - his skin is pale, he needs a haircut, and his lower face is covered in shadow and stubble. His lower lids bug out, drawing attention to the stark highlights on them compared to the bags under his eyes. His hair is shaggy and brown - not long enough to be an intentional hairstyle. His makeup is natural, and he probably isn't wearing much at all - a lot of these notes are more for someone looking to recreate this look. He looks very much like a guy who's been in jail for a while and isn't doing well.

1:38 - Look #2

Flashback - Levi is clearly younger here, definitely a different actor. He looks like Gibby. Though this is a different actor, there are clear makeup decisions here - his skin is rosier, his lower lids don't bug out (and there are no bags under his eyes), and his hair is neatly trimmed to a more intentional style. He has no facial hair, nor any shadow - implying not that he's a grown man who's shaved recently, but one who's too young to grow facial hair. This look really implies that he's been in jail for a while, since this look is from the day he was arrested, and his first is from the day he got out of prison.

2:50 - Look #3

Still in the flashback - Younger Levi slips and falls into a pool of his mother's blood. When he comes back up, his entire lower face is covered in blood - making it look like he's been eating his mother. This impression is only furthered when something flies out of his mouth - I'm not sure if it's his mother's flesh, or if he's vomiting. The sound makes it sound like he's puking, but what comes out of his mouth isn't bloody at all. It looks more like the sandwich he was just eating. It does keep that impression that he's been eating her, though. His mother's blood is dark and looks thick - she's been dead for a while.

5:07 - Look #4

Very little change here, back in the present. I might be wrong, but I think he's sweatier and flushed. It makes sense - someone just tried to force-feed him meat, and he's started twitching and acting erratic.

13:51 - Look #5

Once again, very little change - the only real change I can see is that he has light blood splatter on him from killing his friend.

Conclusion

Levi is a haunted man who, after witnessing a terrible tragedy (his mother's death), was accused of murder and sent to prison. He can't even find peace once he's proven innocent and is able to return home - his family and friends have all gone insane. As his appearance evolves, we can see him slowly fall apart. Because this is a horror video, a lot of his looks are defined by blood and gore, but the placement is careful as to imply certain conclusions, even if they aren't true. I think this is a really interesting view into how makeup can manipulate us.
